The CCC was formed in February
2009 and has been working diligently to promote the Census in
Ocean County to ensure a complete and accurate count..
Complete Count Committee
members partner with the US Census Bureau Partnership Specialists
to promote the importance of the Census at events around the
County, including the Ocean County Fair, Ocean County Day and
many other public events around the County.

Promotional events included the Ocean
County Team at the Polar Bear Plunge, interviews
on
Comcast Eye on Ocean County, and public events
such as the
Ocean County St Patrick's Day Parade,
Ocean County Fair,
Ocean
County Day
at the Berkeley branch of the Ocean County Library and
many others. At the Annual
Planning Board Workshop Dinner
in October 2009, the keynote speaker was Theodore
Roman, the Deputy Director of the Philadelphia Regional Census
Headquarters.

On Monday, March 8, 2010, Ocean
County Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari addressed the Assembly State
Government Committee on the importance of the 2010 Census. Vicari
was invited to address the panel and outline the county’s
preparations, which began in 2008, for the population count.
He also called on all County residents to fill out their Census
forms, which began arriving in mailboxes this month.
In January,
the Toms River Local Census Office held an open house, which
was well-attended and featured the Oceanaires' Mutual Accord,
a local barbershop quartet group to "Sing in the Census".
